OOC: Psionic Powers Info Gathering

Disclaimer: Loki's has low-level empathy and telepathy. If your character is susceptible, he may pick up on their feelings or read flashes of their memories. Clearly all with OOC Permission! If your character is experiencing strong thoughts or emotions and you think Loki might pick up on them during a log, let me know and we can play with it.

For the purposes of info gathering:

♦ If your character has psychic shielding, how strong is it? Let me know your limits

♦ Alternatively, is your character prone to loudly projecting their feelings?

Tamara:
-No resistance
-Probably not actually all that loud unless she's angry, at which point I imagine any psi within 5 miles will be aware. >.>

-LOL NO
-Definitely loud with his day-to-day thoughts and memories, most of which are almost childishly basic. If you catch him somewhere more peaceful (ie, the woods) actually pretty serene.
-Completely at your disposal for trolling or handwaved mischief. XD

Ginger (incoming)
-No shields
-Probably pretty loud, yeah...

Sage:
- Extremely strong psi-resistance.

- Very strong. Her mind is difficult to keep up with at the best of times, and the bulk of her psionic potential is dedicated to defense.

- Loki might manage to pick up her feelings, possibly, but Tessa isn't particularly ruled by them. So it wouldn't be that helpful.

Blink:

- None.

- Minimal. She's probably pretty easy to read.

- Occasionally. She isn't prone to big emotional displays, but she's not that rigorously controlled, either.

Shinobi:

- Not particularly.

- He's very good at hiding how he actually feels, which might translate to a moderate degree of shielding.

- Shinobi can be very hard to pin down, emotionally. It's not so much difficult to detect his feelings as they tend to change so quickly it might make an empath motion-sick. =P

Scanlan:

- No inherent resistance. Full damage from psychic attacks.

- See above.

- He's prone to projecting a lot of things. But not so much his actual feelings.

Lil has a vulnerability to this sort of thing and is probably leaky as all get out.

Monica's a disciplined thinker but has no special training so I'm not sure where that would fit with her.

I somehow left it out of Duo's wiki (I'll have to fix it) but he's got a fairly good mental defenses against intrusions. It's strong enough that he can create a complete (albeit unconcious and unintentional) separation between himself and the thoughts and memories of the person he's possessing. Those have generally been normal people though.

♦ Yes! Due to her own psi power, TJ has natural resistance to psis. It's low-level natural resistance, though, not like, say, Laura's static fuzz.
♦ She has also been taught how to shield her thoughts and feelings, yes, to complement that low-level resistance. When she thinks about it. If someone good enough gave it a good enough try, it wouldn't hold up, though.
♦ On the other hand, if she doesn't know she's around a psi and has no reason to guard her thoughts and feelings, she tends to feel loudly, yes.

Terry
♦ Nope.
♦ Tessa's been teaching her the basics, so she has the very basics a non-psi can achieve down.
♦ Not as a rule. But when she's loud, she's loud. Rather obviously.

Ororo
♦ Nope. (But wait 'til she learns to scramble psi attacks.)
♦ She's used to focusing on inconsequential things to give Jean a break, but nothing more than that.
♦ Not really, no. Ororo tends to be very level-headed.

Nolan
♦ Nope.
♦ Nope.
♦ Nope! Not unless stated otherwise.

Shen
♦ Nope.
♦ Nope.
♦ She feels strongly about things fairly generally, but she isn't that loud most of the time. She keeps it all aimed towards herself, for the most part. ...of course, sometimes it just gets away from her.

♦ Is psi-resistant in a phased state. It's fairly mediocre, but a strong telepath, like Xavier (or Emma) could break through.
♦ She has feelings, okay? Mostly when watching sappy CW television shows.

Simon:
♦ No resistance, but he's also very boring, too.

Vax:
♦ No resistance, and I mean, you know what he's like. He feels things. Passionately. Sometimes depressingly.

Teddy:

- Natural psionic shielding (Skrull heritage). It's passive, he had no idea he had that ability until Jean mentioned it.

- He's essentially invisible to telepaths unless they're in close physical proximity (a few feet away), or know him well enough to pick out the ripples of his presence. (Tessa can, and Xavier. That's about it so far).

- So that'd be a 'no,' considering the above.

Tommy:

No psi resistance, but he's naturally locked-down emotionally. Fear response will be the only thing getting a big mental reaction.
